Lire en français In 2006 and 2007, the BBC adapted for Christmas season the first two books of Philip Pullman', Sally Lockhart Mysteries, with Billie Pipper as the main character. The first episode was broadcast on the BBC on December 26, 2006 with an audience of about 7 million people. Julie Walters (seen as Mrs Weasley in Harry Potter movies) played the terrifying Mrs Holland, troubling chief of an orphan house while the young Matt Smith first stared on a TV screen a few years before he became the eleventh Doctor of the long-running Doctor Who. The second episode, came on December 30, 2007, reuniting the characters from the first book and first episode. Both adaptation were broadcast in France on Arté in 2008 and 2010. The last two books were not adapted, so far. |
