extrait de The Secret Commonwealth
Moonlight approaching

Pantalaimon, the daemon of Lyra Belacqua, now called Lyra Silvertongue, laid along the window seal of Lyra's little
study bedroom at St-Sophia College, in a state as far from forth* as he could get. He was aware of the cold draft from the
ill-fitting sash-window and aware of the warm yellow naphta light on the table behind him and the scratching of Lyra's pen
and the darkness outside. It was the cold and the dark he liked most just then. As he laid there, turning around to
feel the cold air down his back, down his front, the desire to go outside became * stronger than his reluctance to speak
to Lyra.
