The Golden Compass. Written and directed by
Chris Weitz, the film featured
Nicole Kidman as Mrs. Coulter,
Daniel Craig as Lord Asriel,
Eva Green as Serafina
and the then-newcomer
Dakota Blue Richards as Lyra, chosen among 10000 girls. Despite a fantastic cast and an Academy Award for VFX in 2008, the movie failed at the US box-office and the following movies were never shot.
Fifteen years later, sraffies still hope to see one day the
director's cut and its
missing ending, violently edited (removed) a few weeks
only before the theatrical release...
